Smith Rock State Park

It’s my 2nd week in Bend and I have another visitor. My friend Stacey had a few days off and flew in from Milwaukee to come hang out and explore. I’ve had a lot of cool experiences already on my short journey. Having said that, it is always a little sweeter to be able to share an experience with someone else. So I’m excited she is here. Today we explore Smith Rock State Park.

I’m mostly healed from my mountain bike crash and ready to roll. Smith Rock State Park is located just 30 minutes north of Bend. Today we are tackling one of the most aggressive hiking trails – Misery Ridge and Summit Trail Loop.

Hike Stats

Distance: 5.5 miles
Time: 2-3 hours
Trail Type: Loop
Difficulty: Hard
Total Climbing: 1,778 ft
Max Elevation: 3,559 ft

Looking back at our progress. They call it Misery Ridge for a reason. Brutal!

Oh Good! Even more stairs. Ugh!!
